The government has introduced ‘Electronic Money Order (EMO)’ system through almost all the post offices across the country to facilitate people to send fastest money transfer from one place to another, sources said.
The EMO, which was formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on March 26 last, considering the public woes as well as to help them send money to their near and dear ones within a couple of minute.
Since the inception of the programme, so far, about 1,000 post offices in all the district and upazila levels have been offering the programme, a highly placed source of the Bangladesh Postal Department told The New Nation yesterday. [Read More]
