Co-chairman of the Constitution Review Committee and veteran parliamentarian Suranjit Sengupta once again stirred controversy on the issue of banning religion-based political parties by referring Election Commission in the light of the High Court ruling on the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution.
Ruling Awami League Advisory Council member Suranjit at a meeting on Monday said that the Election Commission would decide whether it would ban the politics of any religion-based parties or not.
