OMS begins today: TCB revises commodity price

The Government will start Open Market Sale (OMS) of rice from today to help minimise burden of essential commodities on common people.
Food Minister Abdur Razzak at a press briefing disclosed it and said that rice selling through fare price cards will also begin on Aug 16 for the same.
Under the OMS programme rice will be sold at Tk 24 per kg in the mobile vehicles. People will be able to buy five kgs a day, five days a week under the OMS programme, while in FPC 20 kgs a month. The sale will continue from 9 am to 7 pm except Fridays and Tuesdays. [Read More]
