No physical punishment in schools

The government imposed ban on all kinds of physical punishment to the students in educational institutions in the country.
Education ministry sources said legal action would be taken for violation of the new rule.
The education ministry yesterday served a notice to the concerned authorities prohibiting physical punitive measures against the students especially those junior levels.
The government took the decision according to the directives of the Supreme Court of the country as recently two human-rights organisations filed a Writ after a student allegedly had committed suicide having been a victim of physical punishment in the school. [Read More]
