Nepalese PM run-off ends in fiasco next voting on Aug 2

Nepal’s Political crisis over the election of a new Prime Minister continues to persist as the voting in the 601-member legislature parliament proved to be another fiasco Friday evening
Both the prime ministerial candidates - Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Nepali Congress vice president Ram Chandra Poudel - were far from winning majority.
Dahal secured 242 votes including 237 votes from his party. 114 votes were cast in opposition while 226 lawmakers went for ‘no vote’. The five additional votes came from Rastriya Janamukti Party, Nepal Rastriya Party and Nepali Janata Dal. [Read More]
