The Supreme Court will pass its order on the two writ petitions challenging the High Court verdict that declared the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution illegal.
The six-member full bench led by Chief Justice Tafazzul Islam set the date after concluding the hearing on leave to appeal petitions yesterday.
Justice TH Khan and Barrister Moudud Ahmed pleaded for the applicants.
The Fifth Amendment had given the constitutional legitimacy to all governments that assumed power from August 15, 1975 to April 9, 1979. [Read more]
