Four women died and two others were injured when a Demra-bound passenger trawler capsized in the river Turag at Tongi in Gazipur yesterday.
Witnesses said, after the Akheri Munajat, the trawler was overloaded with passengers. As the trawler was heading towards its destination, suddenly it sank in the river Turag near Tongi Railway Bridge. Tongi hospital sources said, the deceased were identified as Rupashi and Shahida Akhter of Narayanganj, Jebeda Begum of Shanirakhra of Dhaka and an unidentified woman from Rupganj of Narayanganj.
