Philippine National Oil Company-Exploration Corporation (PNOCO-EC) offered Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) to install a floating offshore cargo vehicle having storage capacity of 1.20 lakh refined petroleum oil. If the offer is accepted, Dhaka would save annually US$1.1million from demurrage by reducing unloading times in Chittagong Port.
“Now, BPC requires 108 hours to handle imported refined petroleum oil due to congestion in Chittagong Port,” PNOCO-EC President Rafael E Del Pilar said in a letter to State Minister for Power and Energy Brig Gen (Retd) Muhammad Enamul Huq last week. [Read more]
