Police arrested a dozen activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and recovered explosives from a building in Agrabad of Chittagong early yesterday.
On secret information, police raided a high-rise building at Mistripara under Double Mooring police station in the port city at about 2:00am and arrested 12 Shibir men with arms, sources said.
The policemen recovered seven firearms — three homemade guns, four revolvers, 26 bullets, half-kg bomb-making powder and 11 cartridges from their possession. [Read more]
