The Appellate Division yesterday stayed for six weeks the High Court Division verdict declaring JS membership of Abul Kashem of Grand Alliance illegal and void on the grounds of loan default on Tuesday last.
The court also permitted Abul Kashem to file a regular leave-to-appeal with the Supreme Court (SC) challenging the HC order within the period.
Chamber Judge of the division Justice SK Sinha passed the order upon a petition filed by Adv Shah Monjurul Hoque on behalf of Abul Kashem.
Shah Monjurul Hoque said his client could continue the activities of the post of MP during the period. [Read more]
