A BNP leader was gunned down by unidentified assailants at Purba Tejturi Bazar in the city’s Tejgaon area yesterday.
The victim was identified as Masum Bhuiyan Bablu, 35, vice president of ward No 39 of Dhaka city BNP and a contractor of Public Works Department (PWD).
Police and witnesses said a group of armed terrorists swooped on Bablu near Islami Madrasha at about 1:40 pm when he was going to a local mosque to say Juma’ prayers.
