Acting commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Abul Kashem tendered his resignation last night following “altercation” with another police official. His resignation, however, is yet to be accepted, a senior official of DMP said.
According to sources, a police officer, backed by a political leader, hurled abuse on the DMP commissioner yesterday afternoon.
Abul Kashem submitted his resignation letter after the incident on the ground of “personal reason.” The acting DMP commissioner also surrendered his arms and vehicles following his resignation. [Read more]
