Govt asked to recover Tk 18cr from ACC bosses

A parliamentary watchdog body yesterday asked the government to recover Tk 18 crore from former Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) chairman Lt Gen (Retd) Hasan Mashud Chowdhury and his associates, who allegedly spent the amount of public money illegally.
The committee found that the ACC, during the massive anti-graft drive during the caretaker government, paid Tk 10 crore to its lawyers in addition to the normal fees which it was supposed to pay. [Read more]
