The Supreme Court yesterday reprimanded Barrister Abdullh Al Mamun, the counsel for condemned prisoners Maj (retd) Bazlul Huda and Lt Col (retd) AKM Mohiuddin Ahmed, for making “distorted” statement to the press about the ongoing appeal hearing in the Bangabandhu murder case.
On the fourth day of the hearings, the court action came following a report run in the daily Inqilab on Thursday, quoting his observations.
Attorney-General Mahbubey Alam informed the court that the statement not only was published in the newspaper but also aired by some television channels. [Read more]
