Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith on Tuesday said at present 20 percent of the national revenue comes from income tax and the country should earn Taka 20,000 crore annually as income tax.
He said the government wants entire revenue that the state requires for its annual expenditure come from income tax and for this a culture of paying income taxes should be built.
The Finance Minister was addressing as the chief guest a function organised on the occasion of National Income Tax Day 2009. Prime Minister’s Adviser on Economic Affairs Dr Mashiur Rahman addressed the function as the special guest. [Read more]
