The Cabinet yesterday approved a proposal for amendment of the Export Processing Zone (EPZ) Workers Organisation and Industrial Relations (Amendment) Act 2009.
The decision came at the regular weekly meeting of the cabinet at the Bangladesh Secretariat with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
Ministers, State Ministers and Advisers to the Prime Minister among others, attended the meeting.
“The amendment proposal was placed to rename the ‘workers organisation’ as ‘workers
welfare society’ in the Industrial Relations Act,” Abul Kalam Azad, Press Secretary to the Prime Minister told a press briefing at the PID conference room. [Read more]
