A lawyer of Dhaka Judge court sustained bullet injuries and a police constable was stabbed in separate incidents in the city on Monday.
Advocate Miah Md Zakir Hossain received bullet wounds as a miscreant fired two shots entering his chamber at Koilas Ghosh Lane under Kotwali police station at about 3:00 pm.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
An extortionist introducing himself as Shaheed has been demanding toll from Advocate Zakir over phone for the last several days. It might be the reason behind the attack, Advocate Zakir said. [Read more]
