In the wake of massive landslides that killed 10 people early on Friday in Lama upazila, the local administration Saturday started shifting people from vulnerable foothills and slopes to safer places.
The government has asked the district administration and UNOs of seven upazilas of the district to shift vulnerable people to safer places to avert recurrence of such tragic incidents.
In the first phase, around 200 people were moved to the safer places in Sadar and Lama upazilas today and each family was provided with 10 kgs of rice. [Read more]
