Fifty persons including 12 Policemen were injured in a clash occurred last night at the Trade fair at Thakurgaon Stadium over non-holding of raffle draw.
The injured police personnel who include ASI Amjad Hossain and Constable Akbar were admitted to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital. To disperse the mob Police lobbed 40 rounds of tear gas shells.
Police arrested 15 persons from the spot. Plying of vehicles were suspended for 3 hours on Thakurgaon-Panchagarh highway.
About 100 police personnel were deployed under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner Moniruzzaman Monir at the spot to control the situation. [Read more]
