Raiding a crowded supermarket in the capital’s Mirpur area in broad daylight Monday, gunmen shot dead a cable businessman and wounded seven others by bullet. The killing of Abdur Rahim, 30, at Swadhin Bangla Supermarket happens to be a second such incident of gun attack after the June 26 triple-murders at Karwan Bazar business hub.
Witnesses said a gang of 8/10 hooligans stormed ‘Islam Tiles and Sanitary’ shop at the market at 2.45pm and opened fire on the people sitting in the shop.
“Eight people, mostly traders of the market, were injured in the shootings,” says a firsthand report. [Read more]
