The government is likely to sit with the donor agencies to discuss some proposed amendments to the public procurement law and rules.
According to official sources, such an initiative is being taken by the government following the strong reservation expressed by the donor agencies, preferred to be known as development partners.
A secretary committee, headed by the Cabinet Secretary, has recently readied about 50 amendments to the existing Public Procurement Act (PPA) and the Public Procurement Regulation (PPR). But the donor agencies raised objections to some of the amendment proposals. [Read more]
