57 cos get license for power generation

A total of 57 power companies have received license from Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) to generate 260 MW of electricity.
The BERC took decision to provide them licenses in its 31st open meeting held at the office yesterday. BERC Chairman Golam Rahman presided over the meeting.
Of the companies, one is Rental Power Producer (RPP), one service oriented industrial power plant and 55 are captive power producers or small power producers, BERC Chairman Golam Rahman told the New Nation yesterday. [Read more]
