Communications Minister Syed Abul Hossain Monday hoped that the government of Japan would increase its loan assistance for the proposed Padma Bridge.
“Hopefully, the Japanese government will double its loan assistance as it earlier assured us of providing US $ 200 million in loan for the bridge,” he told reporters after a meeting with outgoing Japanese Ambassador Masayuki Inoue.
The minister said Japan would also provide assistance for constructing metro rails and elevated expressways in Dhaka City as they were conducting feasibility studies in this regard. [Read more]
