A furniture shop employee was shot dead and two others were injured allegedly by local union parishad chairman at Kamrangichar on Tuesday afternoon.
Hasan, 30, died on the spot. Rickshaw puller Rejaul and pedestrian Imran were admitted to the hospital with bullet wounds.
Witnesses said Monir Hossain, chairman of Sultanganj union parishad, in his Nissan jeep was passing by Loharpool at about 2pm. A group of people halted his jeep and raised some demands ensuing altercation.
At one stage Monir opened fire killing Hasan on the spot and injuring two others. [Read more]
