BNP continues to stay away from JS session

The opposition lawmakers led by BNP continued to abstain from the budget session of the Jatiya Sangsad that resumed yesterday after a two-day recess.
Chief Whip Joynal Abedin Faruk met with Speaker Abdul Hamid Advocate twice yesterday and demanded at least one more seat on the front row of the House.
Though the opposition chief whip at first termed the meetings “inconclusive,” he later said that the meetings ended without any fruitful result.
“BNP’s parliamentary committee meeting will decide next week whether it will join the budget session,” he told journalists after the meeting. [Read more]
