Shipping Minister Dr Afsarul Amin yesterday said that the Government would take initiative to start major dredging in river and seaport channels to ensure commercial loading and unloading of goods smoothly through waterways.
He said this to the reporters after a courtesy call with the US Ambassador to Dhaka James F Mariaty at his office at Secretariat.
Afsarul said that the previous BNP and recent past caretaker government had invited tender for six times for dredging Mongla port. [Read more]
