Government authorities refrained from producing 1,341 suspected BDR mutineers in the metropolitan court yesterday citing accommodation problem for the big horde and security
risks as the deterrents.
They are among around two thousand soldiers of the border force arrested so far on sedition charges for their involvement in the February 25-26 mutiny and mass murders of army officers in their command at their Peelkhana headquarters.
Assistant Commissioner, Prosecution, M Anisur Rahman said the court could not accommodate the huge number of accused at a time on the court premises and so they were not produced before the court yesterday. [Read more]
