Irrigation and seed production will be given emphasis in the next Annual Development Programme (ADP) with the allocation of Tk 1,100 crore in the agriculture sector, sources in the Ministry of Agriculture said.
The allocation will higher by Tk 50 crore than that of the ongoing ADP, the sources added.
“The government will take up 61 projects in the agricultural sector. Of them, 47 projects will be new projects,” a senior official of the Ministry of Agriculture told the New Nation yesterday.
He said that 17 of the projects are linked with development of water resources. [Read more]
