The High Court has strictly prohibited forthwith the publication of any photograph or the real name and identity of a child accused or offender in any print and electronic media.
Reminding all concerned, including the government, of the imperative for complying with section 17 of the Children Act 1974, the High Court said any such publication would be an offence under this law.
According to the Act, anyone who breaks it will have to suffer imprisonment for two months or a fine of Tk 200. [Read more]
