A shop-owner was killed and 30 other people were injured as garment workers clashed with terror and police at Gorgoria in Sreepur here yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Saiful, a shop-owner of the area.
Local sources said 133 retrenched workers of Pandora Garments have staged demonstrations for reinstating them for the last few days.
When they resumed demonstration on Saturday morning, the garment owners along with some local people attacked the workers, triggering a clash that left at least 30 people wounded, including cops. [Read more]
