AG concerned over bigwig fugitive graft- convicts seeking HC bail

UNB, Dhaka

Attorney-General Mahbubey Alam yesterday vehemently opposed bigwig fugitive convicts making beeline for bail from the High Court on surrender by dodging the trial courts that convicted them of corruption during the recent purge.
“If the High Court considers the pending petitions of the fugitive convicts, there might be created a disorder in the judiciary,” the new chief government law officer told the High Court while making his submissions on the burning issue, as asked for. [Read more]
