The Election Commission, after waiting for two days to settle intra-alliance disputes over seat sharing, yesterday declared the final list of 1538 candidates along with their symbols to contest in 299 constituencies for the 9th parliamentary election slated for December 29.
The Commission could not bring any significant change in the schedule, as the political parties did not submit letters withdrawing support on as many as 60 candidates in different constituencies who represent doubly from the same alliance. [Read more]
