In its draft manifesto Awami League (AL) has pledged that if voted to power it would take initiative to form a south Asia task force to combat the growing threat of terrorism in the region.
The party is mulling over the issue of formation of task force comprising security forces of Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and some other countries to combat the militants jointly, party sources said.
A member of electoral manifesto drafting committee of AL said, ” We have included the provision of taking initiative to form South Asia task force as our party’s stand is always against terrorism and militancy. [Read more]
