In its fresh bid, Petrobangla will seek to raise the gas price in a request to the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC), officials said.
The country’s energy sector watchdog last week turned down the request of raising the gas price by 65 per cent saying it is already making a profit of Tk 2 per unit of gas production and sales business.
It, however, said 10-15 percent rise might be considered to create a special fund for enhancement of gas exploration and production purpose. The fresh move will be made in compliance with the BERC conditions, added the officials. [Read more]
