At least 50 garments workers, including a manager, were injured in a clash between workers of a factory and police at Hrishipara of Hemayetput here yesterday morning.
Police said agitated garments workers of Abani Knitwear Textile Mills staged a rowdy demonstration on Dhaka-Aricha highway and damaged 20/22 vehicles, including private cars, trucks and buses.
Local sources said the workers and factory manager Abul Bashar locked into an altercation over poor quality food items supplied to the workers. [Read more]
