The Election Commission (EC) will take stern action against the candidates who will use party identities o the upcoming city and poura elections.
Election Commissioner M Sohul Hussain said this yesterday while talking to reporters at his office. He said the Commission would not consider the involvement of political parties in the local government elections as a violation of the electoral rules before finalising the nomination papers of candidates.
The Commission is ignoring the political parties’ activities relating local government body elections for the time being, he said. [Read more]
