A correspondent of Prothom Alo was seriously injured in a train accident at Tejgaon rail crossing in the city yesterday.
The victim identified as Saiful Islam Shamim, a student of Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of Dhaka University, was run over by a goods train in the morning.
Witnesses said Shamim was crossing the rail line on foot when a train suddenly knocked him down and crushed his legs.
Local people rushed him to Pangu Hospital for treatment.
Prothom Alo source said the medical expenses for his treatment would be borne by the newspaper authorities. [Read more]
