A move is afoot to form a new high-powered advisory committee for the interim period to assist the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) under the next Parliament.
The World Bank has provided technical assistance to the government for forming an ad-hoc committee based on international precedents.
An overwhelming number of outstanding reports of the Comptroller and Auditor General have accumulated due to the absence of Parliamentary Accounting Committee. Such a situation pushes the government to consider an alternative. [Read more]
