Adviser hopeful of all-party dialogue: CA’s lacklustre presence annoys party bosses

The two major political parties of the country-the BNP and the Awami League-yesterday expressed skepticism about success of the national dialogue, blaming the lack of sincerity on the part of the Government, while noted economists demanded the inclusion of price hike of the essentials and food security in the agenda of the ongoing talks.
Meanwhile, the arrival of the former US Ambassador to Dhaka Patricia A Butenis in the capital from Baghdad on Thursday, on the inaugural day of the dialogue, on a private visit triggered speculations in the political and diplomatic circles, since she was very active to encourage the politicians to become tolerant to each other views and settle disputes through talks during her entire tenure in this country.
