Several hundred students of the Jahangirnagar University held demonstration on the campus and attacked the residences of the Vice-Chancellor and the Proctor on Saturday night in protest against the arrest of three students of the university by the Rapid Action Battalion.
The rampaging students also brought out several processions throughout the day on Sunday, put up barricade on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway for seven hours and set fire to several buses.
Some of angry students claimed that RAB arrested three students of the university on false allegation and filed a case against six students of the university with the Ashulia Police station. [Read more]
