The Economic Affairs Committee meeting yesterday has decided in principle to relocate leather industries away from Dhaka City.
Newly set up Savar Leather Industrial Estate would be the next place for them.
The committee decided to soften the loan repayment conditions for those who would be willing to relocate their factories to the Leather Industrial Estate.
On the other hand, those who would not agree to relocate their factories would have to face a tough situation, as their mortgage assets would be sold out to realise their bank loans. [Read more]
