Hundreds of bird lovers thronged the Jahangirnagar University campus yesterday to enjoy a bird fair that was organised on the campus with a renewed pledge to protect the bird and preserve their habitats.
Department of Zoology of JU, in collaboration with BRAC Bank organised the fair, dubbed ‘BRAC Bank Bird Fair,’ also to create mass awareness about bird population.
The day-long programmes included various events like inter-university bird identification competition, display of photographs of birds, watching birds through telescopes on JU lakes, painting competition on birds for tiny-tots, speech and quiz competitions on birds and bird related cultural function.
