Chief Adviser Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed Thursday said the country would soon have a second submarine cable under a package programme undertaken by the government for the ICT sector to reap maximum benefit from the global information superhighway. Inaugurating the five-day BASIS SoftExpo 2008, he said his caretaker government has taken the measures in the last one year, identifying the reasons behind limited adoption of ICT in all sectors, for best utilization of Information and Communication Technology for the country’s socioeconomic development.
