The government will take necessary legal action against the South Korean construction company of Jamuna Multipurpose Bridge as serious cracks have developed in different parts of this major engineering feat within ten years of its construction.
Sources at the Jamuna Multipurpose Authority at Setu Bhaban told The New Nation yesterday that pervasive corruption involving crores of taka was mainly responsible for the faulty construction of the 4.8 kilometer long and 18.5 metre width bridge that connects the capital with the country’s northern region.
