Detained former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s younger sister and co-accused in the case Sheikh Rehena and Awami League (AL) Acting President Zillur Rahman yesterday welcomed the High Court judgment that declared illegal an extortion case against the AL President under the emergency power rules (EPR).
Expressing her satisfaction, Sheikh Rehana, who is residing in London, told the BBC Bangla Service that the High Court verdict clearly indicated that she would be proved innocent in the trial Court under existing laws of the land. [Read more]
