Although the bird flu has been spreading but there is no reason to be panicked. So far 4,61,311 chickens, ducks and pigeons from 179 poultry farms have been culled in 60 upazilas of 37 districts and eight metropolitan thanas since March 2007.
The government has not taken any decision to stop selling of poultry in Dhaka city.
Manik Lal Samaddar, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser (CA) and also in charge of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, said this at a press conference at the Ministry Conference Room yesterday. [Read more]
