Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Dr ATM Shamsul Huda yesterday said the EC has requested the Chief Adviser to withdraw state of emergency by the first week of March at places where city corporation and municipal elections will be held in April.
He said that the commission also asked for lifting restrictions on indoor politics across the country by that time across the country, as the political parties will have to hold conventions to change their party constitutions as per the electoral reforms.
