The Council of Advisers of the caretaker government Tuesday approved the draft of Production Sharing Contract (PSC) for offshore oil-and-gas exploration in sea aiming to cater a growing demand for fuels.
A meeting of the council of advisers with Chief Adviser Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed in the chair approved the PSC model subject to
discussion with Energy and Mineral Resources Division and Law Ministry.
The draft of the new rules guiding deals with the explorers-from home and abroad–was prepared by Petrobangla with the help of experts and following the PSCs of some other countries like India, Pakistan and Vietnam. [Read more]
