Finance Adviser Mirza Azizul Islam Tuesday said that this year’s annual development programme might be downsized to Tk 22,000 from the allocation of Tk 26,500 as the government’s expenditures went up because of providing huge subsidies to different sectors mainly fertiliser and diesel.
He said this yesterday after a meeting of the budget monitoring and resource committee of the government at his secretariat office.
In the meeting the finance adviser discussed the ways to increase revenue earnings with the NBR officials. [Read more]
