Bangladesh Marriage Registrars’ Association urged the government not to bring the marriage registration sector under the Local Government Ministry from the Law Ministry.
They also urged the government not to introduce the new provision of making compulsory payment of 80 per cent of Marriage Registration fees to the Government exchequer as revenue, as the act would impact gravely on the livelihood of the Marriage Registrars in the country.
